The State of Tennessee is stronger when our researchers, industry and government are collaborating and directing our resources in a strategic direction.
TN-SCORE is in “creating a culture of collaboration” across the state. We are continually expanding our footprint and have many different opportunities to become involved.

Research Opportunity Awards (ROAs) allow faculty members a stipend and start-up grant for their home institution. The faculty member work with as a valuable member one the TN-SCORE research team and set up a laboratory at their home institution to disperse the knowledge and experience gained during the process.
Undergraduate Students at Tennessee colleges and universities are eligible to compete for Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REUs). The REU program is offered in the summer as a residential, full-time research opportunity at Vanderbilt, University of Tennessee and Tennessee Tech. It is also offered during the academic year at Vanderbilt and the University of Tennessee.
TN-SCORE collaborates with organizations that promote interdiscplinary student learning opportunities throghout the educational pipeline from the K-12 level through doctoral program. Current partners include CIRE, Living Light (Solar Decathlon), and GRITS.
Industry Partners play a crucial role in TN-SCORE. The summer internships allow students a practical experience of corporate life in STEM industries. This process assists companies to develop future employees and assess their workforce development needs.
Newly-established Research Stimulation Award partners the university and industry resources for the research and development of new innovations.
